Midland County Career & Technical Education (CTE)

Making career decisions in a changing world can be tough, and knowing how to get there can be even tougher. Put your mind at ease. Career choices are easier than you think. You don’t have to choose the destination yet - just the direction. It’s all about the journey!

Each year, Midland County Career and Technical Education (CTE) offer programs at different sites throughout the county. These programs connect academic learning with hands-on career development, technical skills and work behavior knowledge that are designed to prepare youth for a broad range of employment, training services and post secondary options. CTE programs are offered under the guidance of certified instructors, counselors, and administrators.

The Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act of 2006 requires that states establish a performance accountability system designed to assess the effectiveness of the state in achieving statewide progress in career and technical education. The state-developed performance measures must consist of core indicators, additional indicators that the state determines, and the state-adjusted levels of performance for the core indicators. States are required to continually make progress toward improving the performance of career and technical education students.
